Removal Guide - Step 3
With moving day approaching, it's time to finalise important tasks to ensure everything goes smoothly. Here’s what you need to focus on in the month leading up to your move.
Firstly, you will need to start managing the food you buy and eat to ensure you have no items of food left as you move that will perish if not kept in a freezer or fridge. This means that a few days before you move, you need to ensure all these perishable items are used up.
For parents of young children, it may be easier for you to move without the necessity of looking after your children at the same time, so it may be a good idea to consider finding a childminder for the day of the move to help things run as smoothly as possible. Also, for pet owners, you may need to consider if your pet needs to be looked after during the move. This may mean asking a friend or relative to take care of your pet, or looking for a business to look after your pet, such as a kennel or cattery.
This is a good stage to communicate with us to double-check the moving details and confirm. You will also need to start packing your important documents safely together to ensure they do not get lost or are hard to find at a later date when you may need them. Important documents include your passport, insurance details, National Insurance details, as well as birth and marriage certificates.
Additionally, you will need to ensure that any large items of furniture are taken apart, ready for easy transport.
Once these tasks are done, it’s time to prepare for the final two weeks before the move. In the next step, we’ll guide you through the important preparations to focus on during this time.
